The Beltway Series will resume on Tuesday night, when the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles square off at Camden Yards. On Memorial Day, SP Gio Gonzalez tossed seven plus scoreless innings to lead Washington to a 6-0 victory over the Orioles. Anthony Rendon connected on a three-run blast for the Nationals, who are a game out of first place in the NL East Division.
Thirty-one year old righty Jeremy Hellickson (1-0 2.13 ERA) has pitched well for the Nationals so far this season. Washington has won each of Hellickson’s last four starts and he has allowed just two runs over his last 22 plus frames.
The Baltimore Orioles have lost three straight games and are currently 20 games below .500 overall. On Monday, SP Alex Cobb fell to 1-7 on the season after allowing three runs across seven frames. Adam Jones collected two of Baltimore’s seven hits in a losing effort.
Twenty-five year old righty Dylan Bundy (3-6 4.45 ERA) will get the nod for the Orioles in this contest. Last time out, Bundy went the distance and struck out 14 batters during a 9-3 road victory against the White Sox.
