Nationals at Giants 4/24/18 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The Nationals woes on the West Coast has continued here as the Nationals could not even hold onto a 3 run lead over the Dodgers. The Dodgers were able to scramble back in the game and actually bring home the win by getting 4 runs. The Giants are coming into this game after picking up a win over the Angels and the highlight of that was Brandon Belt's 21 pitch at-bat.

The Nationals on the year have had an offense that has scored a total of 90 runs while hitting at a clip of only .231 on the season. So the Nationals have a decent offense and the struggles have come from the pitching with a team ERA of 4.10

The Giants have managed to score a total of 62 runs, but the hitting is not that good at only .230 on the season. The Giants team ERA is sitting at 3.42 which would explain a lot of the wins. The Nationals in this game are sending out Tanner Roark to the mound. Roark has been able to throw a total of 25 innings in 4 starts. He has struck out a total of 24 batters with a 1-1 record and an ERA that sits at 3.24.

The Giants are countering with Ty Blach. On the season Blach has 26.1 innings in 6 starts and has posted a total of 13 strikeouts, but only a 1-3 record and an ERA that sits at the 4.10 mark on the year so far.

The Nationals are on the road and have been losing quite a bit on the West Coast, just like last season. However, the Nationals have managed to find a decent starter in Roark and he can go deep in the games if needed. Look for Roark to control the Giants lineup. Final Score Prediction, Washington Nationals win 5-2.
