NL East Division rivals will square off on Sunday afternoon, when the Washington Nationals and the Atlanta Braves wrap up their weekend series from Truist Park. Last night, Washington scored five runs in the ninth inning to pull away for a 10-4 road triumph. OF Brock Holt collected four hits and scored twice for the Nationals, who are 14-24 on the year.

Talented left-hander Patrick Corbin (2-3 3.79 ERA) will make his eighth start of the season for the Nationals. Washington has lost each of Corbin’s last four starts and he has given up 12 runs over his last 22 plus frames.

The Atlanta Braves have won 13 of their first 19 home games and hold a two-game lead over Philadelphia  for first place. On Saturday, Atlanta SP Max Fried allowed three runs in five innings and did not factor in the decision. OF Ronald Acuna Jr connected on one of three home runs for the Braves, who fell to 23-16 overall.

Thirty-five year old righty Josh Tomlin (1-2 4.37 ERA) has been thrust into the Atlanta rotation due to a number of injuries. The Braves have lost each of Tomlin’s three starts and he has allowed nine runs across his last 11 plus innings.

Atlanta 2B Ozzie Albies (wrist) took live batting practice on Friday and could be activated early next week. Through 38 games, Washington ranks 9th in OPS and 18th in runs scored.
