Last Updated: 04/16/2022 at 11:22 PM ET

In Sunday afternoon MLB action, the Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox will wrap up their weekend series from Fenway Park. The Twins (3-5) are expected to be one of the best slugging teams in baseball, but have managed just 28 runs through their first eight games. On Saturday, Minnesota struck out ten times during a 4-0 road loss.

Twenty-six year old righty Bailey Ober (1-0 7.20 ERA) will make his 22nd career major league start for the Twins. Through 97 plus career innings, Ober has surrendered 21 home runs and struck out 100 batters.

The Boston Red Sox have split their first eight games and are a half-game behind first place Toronto in the AL East Division standings. During yesterday’s home victory, Alex Verdugo and Xander Bogaerts each hit two-run shots to provide the Boston offense. SP Tanner Houck (1-0) allowed two hits across five plus shutout frames to notch the win for the Red Sox.

The Red Sox will counter with thirty year old right-hander Michael Wacha (0-0 2.08 ERA) on Sunday. Last time out, Wacha allowed one run in four plus frames during a 3-1 road loss against Detroit.

Boston SP Chris Sale (rib) played catch on Friday and is not eligible to return until early June. In 2021, Minnesota ranked 11th in OPS and 14th in runs scored. Last season, Boston ranked 3rd in OPS and 5th in runs scored. Take the over. Final Score Prediction, Boston Red Sox win 7-6.
