On Monday, the Minnesota Twins play their fourth game of spring training when visiting the Baltimore Orioles. Minnesota is 0-3 in spring training after losing two games to the Boston Red Sox 14-1 and 1-0, as well as losing to the Atlanta Braves 3-1. Minnesota will play Tampa Bay on Sunday prior to visiting the Orioles on Monday. In the loss to Boston, Minnesota was held to just four hits with Cody Stashak suffering the loss.
Tim Beckman is batting .333 to lead Minnesota through the first three games of spring training. Miguel Sano is the only player for the Twins with an RBI through the first two games of spring training as the Twins’ bats have been held in check, scoring just two runs through three games, while allowing 18 runs. The Twins have not released the name of their starting pitcher for Monday's match up with the Orioles.
Baltimore is 0-1-1 in its first two games of spring training. Baltimore opened its spring training schedule with a 9-5 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays followed by a 3-3 tie with the New York Yankees. Baltimore plays the Boston Red Sox Sunday prior to hosting the Twins on Monday. Baltimore collected nine hits and its 3-3 tie with New York on Saturday including two hits and one RBI from Ryan Mountcaste.
Thus far through two games of spring training, Richie Martin is leading Baltimore in RBIs with three, while Ryan Mountcastle has two hits to lead the Orioles. Baltimore has not hit a home run through its first two spring training games and as a team the Orioles are batting .246 with a .319 slugging percentage.
