The Brewers (14-6) are riding a four-game winning streak and are sitting atop the NL Central Division standings. On Sunday, 1B Owen Miller’s two-run single in the seventh inning was all the offense Milwaukee would need during a 2-0 road victory against St. Louis. 

Thirty year old right-hander Joe Ross (1-1 4.91 ERA) will head to the hill for the Brewers in this contest. In his last start, Ross (4.2 IP) was tagged for nine hits and seven runs (6 ER) during a 7-3 home loss versus San Diego. 

The Pittsburgh Pirates are looking to snap a six-game losing streak and have fallen four games off the pace in the NL Central Division race. On Sunday, Pittsburgh SP Martin Perez (1-1) gave up six hits and four runs in four innings during a 6-1 home loss versus Boston. 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes had two hits and drove in the only run for the Pirates (11-11), who fell to 3-5 at home. 

Rookie right-hander Jared Jones (1-2 3.13 ERA) will make his fifth career major league start for the Pirates. Through 23 innings of work, Jones has surrendered four long balls and fanned 32 batters while posting a sparkling 0.78 WHIP.
