Last night, two Philadelphia relievers combined to give up six runs in the eighth inning while recording just one out during an 8-7 home loss versus New York. SS Didi Gregorius hit a three-run blast for the Phillies, who stand at 14-14 overall.

The Phillies will give the nod to hard-throwing righty Vince Veasquez (0-0 6.57 ERA) in the series opener. Control has been an issue for Velasquez, who has issued 11 walks and surrendered four home runs in 12 plus innings.
