Brewers vs Reds Picks and Prediction – 6/4/2023

In Sunday afternoon MLB action, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Cincinnati Reds will wrap up their weekend series from the Great American Ball Park. The Brewers (31-27) have split their first 30 road games and are clinging to a one-game lead over Pittsburgh for the top spot in the NL Central Division. On Saturday, OF Blake Perkins hit a grand slam for his first major league home run to lead Milwaukee to a 10-8 road victory.

Thirty year old right-hander Adrian Houser (1-1 4.07 ERA) will take the mound for the Brewers in this matchup. In his last start, Houser (4.1 IP) was roughed up for 11 hits and seven runs during a 7-2 road loss against Toronto.

The Cincinnati Reds are looking to snap a three-game losing streak and are currently five games back of Milwaukee. During yesterday’s home loss, Cincinnati batters combined to go 3-for-13 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base. SS Matt McLain had two hits and scored three runs for the Reds (26-32), who fell to 14-16 at home.

Thirty-one year old righty Ben Lively (3-2 1.99 ERA) has been a much needed boost to the Cincinnati rotation. The Reds have won two of Lively’s first three starts and he has fanned 22 batters during that stretch.
