In Thursday night MLB action, the Miami Marlins will take on the New York Mets from Citi Field. The New York Mets had an August that they would like to forget and have fallen 5.5 games behind NL East Division leading Atlanta. In the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader, OF Michael Conforto hit a two-run blast to power New York to a 3-1 home victory against Miami. Brandon Nimmo added two hits and scored a run for the Mets (65-67).

The Mets will counter with thirty-four year old righty Carlos Carrasco (0-2 6.94 ERA) in the series finale. Last time out, Carrasco gave up two runs in seven innings during a 3-2 home loss versus San Francisco.

New York C James McCann has landed on the 10-day injured list with back spasms. Through 134 games, Miami ranks 28th in OPS and 27th in runs scored. For the season, New York ranks 24th in OPS and 29th in runs scored. Take the Marlins to win on the road. Final Score Prediction, Miami Marlins 5-3.
