Miami Marlins at New York Mets 7/10/22 - MLB Picks & Predictions

In Sunday afternoon MLB action, the Miami Marlins and the New York Mets will wrap up their weekend series from Citi Field. The Marlins (40-43) have won seven of their previous ten games and are 12 games off the pace in the NL East Division race. On Saturday, Miami 1B Jesus Aguilar fell a triple short of the cycle during a 5-4 road loss in ten innings.

Twenty-six year old righty Sandy Alcantara will take the mound for the Marlins in this matchup. In his last start, Alcantara fired eight shutout innings and struck out ten batters during a 2-1 home loss versus the Los Angeles Angels.

The New York Mets have won 28 of their first 42 home games and lead hard-charging Atlanta by 2.5 games for NL East Division supremacy. During yesterday's home victory, C Tomas Nido tied the game in the tenth inning with an RBI double and scored the winning run on an error. Franciso Lindor and Pete Alonso each went deep for the Mets, who improved to 53-32 on the year. 

New York manager Buck Showalter will turn to talented right-hander Taijuan Walker (7-2 2.86 ERA) on Sunday. Last time out, Walker allowed three runs in six innings during a 7-4 road victory against Cincinnati.
