The Miami Marlins travel on the road to Dodger Stadium to close out a three-game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers have won four in a row, including the opening game of this series with a 9-6 win and improved to 22-17 with the win in game two, moving to 2 games back on the NL West lead. The Marlins are 3.5 games back of the NL East and are 5-5 in their last ten games, dropping to 17-22 on the year with the back-to-back losses.

The Dodgers are the favorite to win it all, and the defending champions, with a high-powered offense that is hitting .246 and averaging 5.16 runs per game ranking 4th in the MLB in scoring offense. Veteran third baseman Justin Turner is continuing to be a solid contributor hitting a team-best .311 with 23 RBIs. First baseman Max Muncy is having a solid start tot his year as well with a team-high 8 homeruns with 22 RBIs. Mookie Betts is off to a slow start, and the injuries to Cody Bellinger haven’t done the Dodgers any favors.

The Dodgers have not announced a starter for this game yet, check back for an update when they do so.

Miami is a middle-of-the-pack offense this season hitting .234 as a team ranking 15th in the MLB and is averaging 4.08 runs per game, ranking 21st in the MLB in scoring offense. First baseman Jesus Aguilar is having a very good start to his season leading the Marlins in homeruns with 9 and RBIs with 32, which is tied for second in the MLB. Left fielder Corey Dickerson is 19th in the MLB in batting average hitting .303 but has hit just one home run and driven in 8 runs.

Pablo Lopez will get the ball for the Marlins and although he’s 0-3, he’s been very solid this season posting a 3.07 ERA in his 8 starts. Lopez is coming off his worst start of the season allowing 7 hits and 6 runs in just 4 ⅓ innings of work, given the loss as the Marlins were dominated by the Diamondbacks in an 11-3 loss.

The Dodgers haven’t announced a starter and have been bit by the injury bug across their rotation this season with David Price and Dustin May both on the 10-day DL. It’s a question to who will take the mound but against the Marlins they’re able to generate plenty of runs and get the win at home. The Dodgers bats have been great, especially in the last five games where they’re averaging over 7 runs per game. Final score prediction, Dodgers win 7-4.
