On Saturday, SP Sandy Alcantara (5-2) whiffed 14 batters in eight innings to lead Miami to a 4-1 road victory.

Twenty-seven year old righty Elieser Hernandez (2-4 5.45 ERA) will make his ninth start of the season for the Marlins. Through 39 plus innings, Hernandez has surrendered 11 home runs and owns a 1.31 WHIP.

The Atlanta Braves are a game below .500 at home and eight games behind the first place New York Mets. During yesterday’s loss, Atlanta managed just five hits and struck out a season-high 16 times. SS Dansby Swanson had a pair of hits and drove in the only run for the Braves, who fell to 22-25 on the year.

The Braves will turn to talented left-hander Max Fried (4-2 3.27 ERA) in the series finale. In his last start, Fried allowed two runs in six innings during a 6-5 home victory versus Philadelphia.
