The New York Mets open a three-game series on the road Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves.
New York snapped an eight-game losing streak on Sunday by beating the New York Yankees 2-0 to avoid being swept in their Subway Series. The Mets’ Seth Lugo had six strong innings on the mound and Todd Frazier provided all the necessary runs with a two-run homer to give the Mets the win. New York released veteran first baseman Adrian Gonzalez on Sunday.
The Braves lost for the third time in four games on Sunday falling to the Dodgers 7-2. However, the Braves remained tied for first in the National League East with the Washington Nationals. Both Atlanta and New York are off Monday.
