Miami starter Wei-Yin Chen was pitching a two-hitter and led 1-0 entering the eighth inning, but gave up a home run before leaving during the eighth. The Marlins managed just one run in seven innings off Washington starter Tanner Roark.
San Diego defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday 7-5. The Padres received two home runs off the bat of Christian Villanueva and a go-ahead RBI single by Jose Pirela in the win.
