In Saturday afternoon MLB action, the Miami Marlins and Baltimore Orioles will continue their interleague series from Camden Yards. Last night, SP Jose Urena allowed just three hits over eight scoreless frames to lead Miami to a 2-0 victory. Lewis Brinson tripled twice and scored a run for the Marlins, who are 16 games below .500 overall.
Thirty-two year old lefty Wei-Yin Chen (1-3 6.13 ERA) will make his 10th start of the season for the Marlins. Chen is winless in his last nine starts and has allowed ten runs in his last ten plus innings of work.
The Baltimore Orioles have dropped 49 of their first 68 games to start the season and own the worst record in the majors. On Friday, the Orioles were able to manage just three singles and only walked once. SP Kevin Gausman (3-6) struck out seven batters over five plus innings in a losing effort.
Thirty year old righty Alex Cobb (2-8 7.23 ERA) has not gotten off to a great start to his Orioles’ career. In his last start, Cobb was tagged for 11 hits and nine runs in just three plus innings of a 13-3 loss at Toronto.
