A three-game series will come to an end, when the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers square off on Wednesday afternoon. The Mariners took Monday’s opener by a run, but were outclassed during last night’s 11-4 defeat. SP Felix Hernandez was roughed up for seven runs in six innings for Seattle, who fell 2.5 games behind Oakland for the final AL Wild Card spot.

Twenty-six year old southpaw Marco Gonzales (12-6 3.46 ERA) will take the mound for the Mariners in this matchup. Through 132 plus innings, Gonzales has allowed just 14 long balls and owns a solid 1.15 WHIP. The Texas Rangers have fallen out of postseason contention, but have the ability to play spoiler with Oakland and Seattle in the mix. On Tuesday, Rougned Odor continue his torrid stretch with his 12th home run and four RBIs. SP Bartolo Colon allowed four runs across seven frames to improve his record to 6-10 for the Rangers.

Thirty-two year old righty Yovani Gallardo (6-1 6.51) will make his ninth start of the season for the Rangers. Gallardo has won three straight starts and comes into this game with a subpar 1.62 WHIP.

Seattle 2B Robinson Cano (suspension) began a rehab stint with Triple-A Tacoma on Monday. Through 114 games, Seattle ranks 7th in batting average and 22nd in runs scored.
