The Los  Angeles Dodgers play Game 3 of their best of five National League Division Series on the road Friday against the San Diego Padres. The series is tied 1-1 after San Diego defeated the Dodgers on Wednesday 5-3. Los Angeles collected 11 hits in the loss including solo home runs by Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy and Trea Turner but the Dodgers also left 10 runners stranded on base. Clayton Kershaw gave up three runs on six hits across five innings but did not take part in the decision.

After just two games of the postseason, Max Muncy is batting .429 to lead Los Angeles, while Trea Turner has hit a team high two home runs. Muncy and Turner are the leaders in RBIs with two each. Freddie Freeman is the leader in on-base percentage at .444 and Muncy is the leader in hits with three. On Friday, the Los Angeles Dodgers will send Tony Gonsolin to the mound. During the regular season the right-hander was 16-1 with a 2.14 with 119 Ks and 35 Ks.

San Diego has taken home field advantage after defeating the Dodgers in Game 2 on Wednesday. Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth each hit solo home runs and both had two RBIs. Starting pitcher Yu Darvish threw five strong innings, allowing three runs on seven hits but each of the three runs were home runs. San Diego now has two of the final three games of this series on its home field at Petco Park.

Through five games of the postseason, Trent Grisham is batting .357 to lead San Diego and has a team high .526 on-base percentage. As was the case nearly all season, Manny Machado is leading San Diego during the postseason in home runs with two, RBIs with five and hits with six. On Friday, the San Diego Padres will send Blake Snell to the mound. In one appearance during the postseason, the left-hander gave up two runs on four hits across home 3 ⅓ innings and the Padres lost to the New York Mets 7-3 last Saturday.

Los Angeles is seeing that San Diego is playing much better at this time as the Padres won Game 2 and have shifted the pressure onto the collective shoulders of the Dodgers. However, Los Angeles ran away with the National League West title and will bounce back on Friday with a victory on the road. The Dodgers have won four of the last five in San Diego and Los Angeles has won 12 of the last 15 played on a Friday. The Dodgers will have 16-game (16-1) winner Tony Gonsolin on the mound.
