Los Angeles Dodgers at Atlanta Braves 10/23/21 - MLB Picks & Predictions

Game six of the NLCS will take place Saturday afternoon as the Los Angeles Dodgers visit Truist Park to take on the Atlanta Braves. Los Angeles forced a Game 6 with an 11-2 blowout win in game five. Evan Phillips picked up the win for Los Angeles in a relief appearance giving up no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 batters in 1.1 innings of work. The Los Angeles bullpen closed the game out easily giving up three hits and no runs over the final 7 innings.

The Los Angeles offense exploded in game five with 17 hits as a team including 3-8 with runners in scoring position. Chris Taylor led the way for the Dodgers offense with four hits in five at bats including three home runs to drive in six runs. Aj Pollock contributed with a three hit two home run night to drive in four runs as well.

After a huge bounce back in game four Atlanta had possibly their worst performance of the playoffs in game five. Offensively the Braves struggled with only five hits in 31 at bats including 0-2 with runners in scoring position to leave two men on base. Freddie Freeman provided the only spark from the Atlanta offense with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning.

Max Fried Struggled immensely on the mound for Atlanta giving up five runs on eight hits including two home runs across 4.2 innings of work resulting in the loss. The Braves bullpen did not fare any better giving up six runs and nine hits over the final 3.1 innings to end the game.
