Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks 9/13/22 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The Arizona Diamondbacks host the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sept. 13 for the second game of a three-game series. Los Angeles led the season series 9-2 coming into Monday’s game.  

The Diamondbacks are 66-73 overall and 37-34 at home. Arizona is coming off road series losses at San Diego and Colorado, both 1-2.

The Dodgers are 96-43 overall and 47-25 on the road. Los Angeles has won three straight series, taking two of three from San Diego and San Francisco at home before winning at San Diego two games to one.

Merrill Kelly is the starting pitcher for Arizona. He is 12-5 with a 2.94 ERA over 171.2 innings allowing 137 hits and 49 walks with 147 strikeouts. Kelly lost all three of his starts against the Dodgers early in the season, once in April and twice May. He has lost just two more times all season and has not recorded a loss since June 24.

Clayton Kershaw gets the nod for Los Angeles. He is 7-3  with a 2.62 ERA over 96.1 innings. Kershaw has allowed just 75 hits and 18 walks while striking out 102. Kershaw has not faced the Diamondbacks this season.

Mookie Betts leads Los Angeles with 33 home runs while hitting .278. Freddie Freeman is the Dodgers’ batting average leader at .331, while Trea Turner is the club’s RBI leader with 96.

Christian Walker leads Arizona with 32 home runs and 79 RBI. Josh Rojas has a team-best .272 batting average and is getting on base at a .352 clip.
