Two of the top teams in the American League will square off on Saturday, when the Los Angeles Angels take on the Chicago White Sox from Guaranteed Rate Field. The Angeles (14-7) are riding a six-game winning streak and hold a 2.5 game lead over Seattle for first place in the AL West Division. Last night, Taylor Ward and Shohei Ohtani each homered in the first inning of a 5-1 road victory against Chicago. 

Twenty-four year old lefty Jose Suarez (0-1 5.54 ERA) will head to the hill for the Angels in this contest. Control has been an issue for Suarez, who has walked nine batters through 11 innings.

The Chicago White Sox have dropped nine of their last ten games and are currently 3.5 games off the pace in the AL Central Division race. During Friday's home loss, Chicago was limited to three hits and went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. SP Lucas Giolito (0-1) gave up three runs in six innings and took the loss for the White Sox, who fell to 7-12 on the season.

Chicago manager Tony LaRussa will give the nod to right-hander Vince Velasquez (0-2 6.75 ERA) on Saturday. Last time out, Velasquez was rocked for five runs and recorded just ten outs during a 9-2 road loss against Minnesota.
