The Thursday MLB schedule will get underway with a matchup between the Los Angeles Angels and the Baltimore Orioles from Camden Yards. The Angels (63-65) are five games below .500 on the road and have fallen out of playoff contention. Last night, Los Angeles OF Brandon Marsh homered and drove in five runs during a 10-6 road loss against Baltimore.
Twenty-five year old righty Jaime Barria (2-2 5.87 ERA) will make his sixth start of the season for the Angels. The team has lost Barria’s last three starts and he has been tagged for 11 runs over his last 11 innings of work.
The Baltimore Orioles snapped a 19-game losing streak with their win on Wednesday and still own the worst overall record in the majors. Baltimore rallied for five runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by a pinch-hit, two-run double by Austin Hays. All-Star OF Cedric Mullins homered and drove in three runs for the Orioles (39-86).
The Orioles will turn to twenty-six year old southpaw Keegan Akin (0-8 7.92 ERA) in the series finale. Baltimore has lost Akin’s last three starts and he has given up 12 runs over his last 12 frames.
