Kiwoom Heroes at LG Twins 10/24/22 - KBO Picks & Predictions

The next round of the Korean Baseball Organization playoffs are kicking off on Monday. The series here determines who is going to move into the finals to face the number 1 seed SSG Landers. The game features the Kiwoom Heroes, the third ranked team traveling to face the LG Twins, the 2nd ranked seed.

On the season the Heroes ended up hitting at a clip of .252 with a total of 94 homers, but had a team ERA of 3.79. The Twins ended up hitting at a clip of .269 with 118 homers and a 3.33 ERA on the season. During the regular season the Twins controlled the series with 10 wins and only 6 losses against Kiwoom.

Tyler Eppler is the starter slated to face the Heroes in this game. On the season Eppler ended up throwing decent and finished with a 6-8 record and a 4.30 ERA while posting a 1.51 WHIP. Tyler did throw only 140 1/3 innings and struck out 86 batters while walking 40.

Casey Kelly is starting the game for the Twins. This year Kelly finished the year with a very impressive 16-4 record and a 2.54 ERA while getting a 1.08 WHIP. Kelly threw a total of 166 1/3 innings and managed to strike out 153 batters while walking a total of 35 batters.

The game here is going to have a Heroes team coming in tired and worn down, even after a days rest. The Heroes are also putting a starting pitcher on the mound that has done decent, but compared to Kelly looks like a rookie in A ball for the MLB. Look for the pitching from Casey Kelly to keep the Heroes hitters flummoxed and unable to produce much offense and that allows LG to secure the victory in the opening game. Final Score Prediction, LG Twins win 5-2.
