The Saturday MLB schedule will get underway with a matinee between the Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees from the Bronx. Cleveland scored 19 runs in a series opening win, but managed just four hits during last night’s 3-2 road loss. Yasiel Puig and Jose Ramirez each went deep in a losing effort for the Indians, who trail Minnesota by a game for the AL Central Division lead.

Rookie right-hander Zach Plesac (6-3 3.27 ERA) will make his 15th career major league start. Cleveland has won each of Plesac’s last seven starts and he has allowed 11 runs over his last 34 plus frames. The New York Yankees have won 48 of their 67 home games and are tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the best overall record in baseball. On Friday, Gary Sanchez and Gleyber Torres delivered run scoring singles in the first inning to get the Yankees going. SP Masahiro Tanaka allowed two runs over six plus innings to improve to 9-6 on the year.

Hard-throwing southpaw James Paxton (8-6 4.40 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Yankees on Saturday. Paxton has won three straight starts and has given up six runs over his last 18 plus innings of work.

Cleveland SP Corey Kluber (arm) has made two rehab starts and is nearing a return to the rotation. Through 123 games, Cleveland ranks 16th in OPS and 16th in runs scored. For the season, New York ranks 3rd in OPS and 1st in runs scored. Take the over on Saturday. Final Score Prediction, New York Yankees win 7-6.
