Last Updated: 08/03/2020 at 2:04 PM ET

The Monday MLB schedule will get underway with an interleague clash between the Cleveland Indians and the Cincinnati Reds from the Great American Ball Park. The Indians (5-5) are looking to snap a three-game skid and have scored just two runs total over that stretch. On Sunday, Cleveland was limited to two hits and stuck out ten times during a 3-1 loss at Minnesota.

Twenty-five year old righty Zach Plesac (0-0 0.00 ERA) will take the mound for the Indians in this matchup. In his first start, Plesac fanned 11 batters and allowed just three hits in eight innings during a 4-0 home loss versus Chicago.

The Cincinnati Reds have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball and are coming off a doubleheader sweep on Sunday. In Game One, Nick Castellanos went deep twice against his former team to lead Cincinnati to a 4-3 victory against Detroit. In Game Two, SP Trevor Bauer (1-0) struck out seven batters in a complete game effort to lead the Reds (4-5) to a 4-0 win.

Thirty year old right-hander Sonny Gray (2-0 0.71 ERA) has been dominant in his first two starts for the Reds. Through 12 plus innings of work, Gray has struck out 20 batters and has posted a ridiculous 0.55 WHIP.

Cincinnati 1B Joey Votto (illness) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, but has not tested posted for COVID-19.. Through ten games, Cleveland ranks 22nd in OPS and 23rd in runs scored. Cincinnati features an offense that ranks 9th in OPS and 12th in runs scored. Take the Reds to win as Gray moves to 3-0. Final Score Prediction, Cincinnati Reds win 5-3.
