Twenty-eight year old righty Mike Clevinger (13-3 2.39 ERA) will take the mound for the Indians in this matchup. Last time out, Clevinger struck out ten batters across seven frames during an 11-0 road victory against Chicago.
The Washington Nationals have won 49 of their 80 home games and will host the NL Wild Card game. On Saturday, Washington OF Gerardo Parra capped a nine-run second inning with a grand slam. Ryan Zimmerman added two hits and scored a run for the Nationals, who won for the 92nd time.
The Nationals will counter with twenty-six year old righty Joe Ross (3-4 5.90 ERA) on Sunday. Control has been an issue for Ross, who has walked 31 batters through 58 innings.
