Indians at Astros 10/6/18 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The Saturday MLB playoff schedule will get underway with a battle between the Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros from Minute Maid Park. In Game One, SP Corey Kluber was tagged for six hits and four runs during a 7-2 loss. All-Star SS Francisco Lindor had a hit and scored a run for the Indians, who struck out ten times on the afternoon.

Thirty-one year old righty Carlos Carrasco (17-10 3.38 ERA) will take the mound for the Indians in this matchup. In two starts versus the Astros this season, Carrasco was tagged for 15 hits and eight runs in 13 plus innings. The defending World Series Champion Houston Astros won 103 games during the regular season and somehow managed to fly under the radar. On Friday, Houston flexed their muscle by hitting four home runs. SP Justin Verlander struck out seven batters and allowed two runs over five plus innings for the Astros, who had 12 hits on the day.

Twenty-eight year old righty Gerrit Cole (15-5 2.88 ERA) will get the nod for the Astros on Saturday. Cole struck out a career high 276 batters and posted a sparkling 1.03 WHIP in 200 plus innings this year.

Cleveland OF Tyler Naquin (hip) was left off the ALDS roster. Through 162 games, Cleveland ranked 2nd in batting average and 3rd in runs scored. For the season, Houston ranked 7th in batting average and 6th in runs scored. Look for Houston to take a 2-0 series lead with a low scoring victory on Saturday. Final Score Prediction, Houston Astros win under game 3-2.
