The Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays are set to meet in game 6 of the ALCS as they will faceoff at Petco Park in San Diego, California. The Houston Astros have gained some momentum as they have rattled off 2 consecutive wins with their latest coming on Thursday night, 4-3. Luis Garcia received the start in the opener role for the Astros, and he had a ton of success as he went 2 hitless innings. DH Michael Brantley had a productive game from the late as he hit 1 HR and 2 RBIs, but Carlos Correa was the one who won the game on a solo-Hr.

The Houston Astros are set to start Framber Valdez (5-3, 3.57 ERA) who had success in his latest start as he gave up 2 earned runs in 6 innings against the Tampa Bay Rays in game 1 of the ALCS. Framber Valdez has had the majority of his struggles away from Minute Maid Park as he is 2-2 with a 3.60 ERA this season.

The Tampa Bay Rays have allowed the Houston Astros to climb back into the series as we currently sit at 3-2 after the Rays dropped game 5, 4-3. The Tampa Bay Rays went with an opener for Thursday’s game, and John Curtiss didn’t have a great outing as he gave up 1 earned run in 1.1 innings. Ji-Man Choi had a productive game from the plate for the Rays as he went 2 for 2 with a solo-HR.

The Tampa Bay Rays are set to start Blake Snell (4-2, 3.24 ERA) who had success in his latest start as he gave up 1 earned run in 5 innings against the Houston Astros in game 1 of the ALCS. Blake Snell hasn’t performed as well away from Tropicana Park as he is posting a 3.72 ERA through 6 starts.

The Tampa Bay Rays have allowed the Houston Astros to gain some momentum and essentially put them in a prime spot to win the series, but I think they finally get their series clinching win with Blake Snell on the mound. Blake Snell has been their top pitcher over the last few seasons, and he has backed that up this postseason as he is posting a 2.87 ERA. The Tampa Bay Rays aren’t a team that will put up 7+ runs, but they understand situational hitting and they will need that to play a factor once again against Framber Valdez who has been fairly good this year. If the Rays can give Snell 3 runs of run support and allow the bullpen to do their work, they will win this game. Final Score Prediction, Tampa Bay Rays win 5-2.
