Astros vs Mariners Prediction

Houston kicks off a tough road series at T-Mobile Park against a red-hot Seattle squad. The Astros (56-40) have dropped four of the last five, including a 5-1 loss to the Rangers in the last outing. Seattle (51-45) enters on a three-game win streak after sweeping the Tigers, capped by an 8-4 win. Pitching matchup is expected to be Hunter Brown for Houston (7-5, 3.62 ERA) versus Logan Gilbert for the Mariners (9-5, 3.31 ERA). Elevate your MLB game with our top-notch MLB picks.

Houston’s inconsistency was on full display during the last homestand, falling flat against Cleveland and Texas. They’re just 2-5 in the last seven, struggling to find run production outside of Jose Altuve, who leads the team with 52 RBIs and 17 homers. Jeremy Peña continues to be a bright spot with a .322 batting average and .378 OBP, but the team only managed 11 runs in the last four losses.

The Astros own a .258 team batting average with 110 home runs and a solid .411 slugging mark. On the mound, the Astros are holding opponents to a .225 average, boasting a 3.61 ERA and 1.16 WHIP—both excellent marks. However, bullpen depth has been tested with several arms on the IL, including Glenn Otto and Luis Guillorme. Hunter Brown has been reliable, but Houston needs more than just quality starts to get back on track.

Seattle’s offense exploded in Detroit, putting up 35 runs in three games. Cal Raleigh is putting together an MVP-level season with 38 homers and 82 RBIs, while J.P. Crawford’s consistent .290 average and .391 OBP continue to set the tone. The Mariners’ recent sweep is a clear sign this team is heating up at the right time, especially at home, where they’ve gone 25-21.

Seattle is hitting .250 as a team with more power than Houston, tallying 136 home runs and a .418 slugging percentage. The pitching staff owns a 3.89 ERA and 1.26 WHIP, allowing a .243 batting average. Logan Gilbert has been sharp all season, and with Bryce Miller out, his outings carry extra weight. Injuries in the bullpen remain a concern, but the bats are more than making up for it right now.

Astros vs Mariners Pick Analysis

Seattle’s offense is firing on all cylinders, and Gilbert gives them the edge over Brown on the mound. The Mariners have been better in the slugging department (.418 vs .411), have more home runs (136 vs 110), and come in with serious momentum after scoring 35 runs in three games. Houston is banged up, cold at the plate, and has dropped four of five. Final Score Prediction: Seattle Mariners win 6-4.
