Coors Field will play host to a Thursday afternoon NL West Division battle between the San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies. Last night, 1B Brandon Belt crushed a three-run blast to lead San Francisco to a 4-3 road victory against Colorado. SP Logan Webb (1-0) gave up two runs (one earned) in five innings to pick up the win for the Giants, who moved to a game below .500 overall.

First-year San Francisco manager Gabe Kapler has yet to name a starting pitcher for this matchup. The Giants rank 25th in the majors with a 5.14 ERA and have yet to log a quality start.

The Colorado Rockies took the first two games of this four-game series and sit atop the division standings with an 8-3 record. On Wednesday, 3B Nolan Arenado hit his third home run of the season to pull Colorado to within one run in the seventh inning. SP Jon Gray (0-1) was tagged for five hits and four runs (three earned) in a losing effort for the Rockies.

Twenty-seven year old southpaw Kyle Freeland (2-0 1.50 ERA) is off to a nice start for the Rockies. Through 12 innings of work, Freeland has allowed just six hits and fanned nine batters.

Colorado RP Wade Davis has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain. Through 13 games, San Francisco ranks 17th in OPS and 8th in runs scored. Colorado counters with an offense that ranks 8th in OPS and 9th in runs scored. Take the Rockies to win the series behind a strong outing from Freeland. Final Score Prediction, Colorado Rockies win 7-4.
