Did the Giants make enough changes in the off season to really be competitive? The chances are not really good for the Giants as the team was missing an offense last year and could not really score that many runs to help them out. However, the Giants are a team that is able to play consistent small ball and rely on the pitching staff, but the depth of the pitchers is sorely lacking this year for the Giants.

Madison Bumgarner is the player who has been able to lead the Giants on the season so far. Bumgarner has been able to get a total of 110 wins and only 83 losses in his career. He has been a great strikeout pitcher with 1591 strikeouts on the season and he has posted a 3.03 ERA in his career. With the Padres the offense has not really been that amazing on the year last year. The Padres did not make a ton of moves either that would be considered a splash to help improve the offense in the game. However, the Padres may have a decent showing if the players they have on the roster are able to live up to their potential on the season and that will make for an interesting season.

For the Padres they are planning on sending out Eric Lauer to the mound. Lauer has been able to have a dismal career record on the year so far with a 6-7 record in his career, but he only has 23 starts in his career. Lauer has been able to get a 4.34 ERA so far in his career and has been able to strike out a total of 100 batters on his career.

The Padres are going to struggle offensively in this game here as they are going to face Bumgarner who has been a great pitcher for the Giants. The Padres for their part have struggled offensively at times and even if they do get a good showing here it will be for naught as Bumgarner is able to shut down the Padres offense. Final Score Prediction, San Francisco Giants win 3-2.
