The San Francisco Giants continue their East Coast swing on Wednesday with a game against the Miami Marlins.
The Giants were beaten in the first game of this series on Monday 7-5. San Francisco left-hander Madison Bumgarner squandered a sixth inning lead for the Giants and then was tossed out by the home plate umpire while leaving the field after the sixth due to arguing balls and strikes. Bumgarner blamed himself following the loss. J.T. Realmuto collected three hits in the win for Miami including a home run and two RBIs. Brian Anderson also homered and had a pair of doubles while driving in two. The start was just Bumgarner’s second after missing two months with a broken pinkie on his pitching hand.
Brandon Crawford leads San Francisco with a .333 batting average and team high 75 hits. Brandon Belt is the team leader in home runs with 11. Evan Longoria leads in RBIs with 33. San Francisco has a team batting average of .263 while opposing hitters are averaging .254 at the plate against Giants pitching. On Wednesday, the Giants will send Andrew Suarez to the mound. The left-hander this season is 2-4 with an ERA of 5.06, 47 Ks and 9 BBs.
Brian Anderson leads the Marlins with a .310 batting average and team highs in hits with 77 and RBIs with 32. Justin Bour has the team lead in home runs with 10.
