Los Angeles has won three straight after sweeping the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field over the weekend, including Sunday’s 10-7 victory. The Dodgers scored 33 runs in three games in Colorado. On Sunday, the Dodgers rallied in the ninth with a home run by Yasmani Grandal as part of three runs scored to edge the Rockies 10-7. Max Muncy hit two home runs for LA in the game.
The Pirates have lost two straight after falling on Sunday to St. Louis 5-0 in a game in which they were held hitless until the leadoff batter in the ninth, Colin Moran singled.
Matt Kemp leads the Dodgers with a .344 batting average and team highs in hits with 62, home runs with nine, and RBIs with 33. Los Angeles has a team batting average of .241, while opposing hitters are averaging .239 at the plate against Dodgers pitching. The Dodgers have not yet announced a starting pitcher for Wednesday’s game in Pittsburgh.
Corey Dickerson leads the Pirates with a .313 batting average, and a team high 65 hits. Gregory Polanco holds the team lead in home runs with eight, while Francisco Cervelli leads in RBIs with 34.
