In Tuesday night MLB action, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates will begin a three-game series from PNC Park. The Dodgers are riding high after sweeping the Rockies at Coors Field and scoring 33 runs over the three games. Los Angeles is a game below .500 overall and 2.5 games behind the NL West Division leading Arizona Diamondbacks.

Twenty-eight year old righty Ross Stripling (3-1 1.68 ERA) will make his seventh start of the season for the Dodgers. Last time out, Stripling allowed just four hits and one run over seven frames during an 8-2 victory versus Philadelphia. The Pittsburgh Pirates are looking to turn things around and have lost 12 of their last 16 games overall. On Sunday, the Pirates were no-hit for eight innings during a 5-0 loss at St. Louis. Pittsburgh is a game above .500 overall and 6.5 games behind Milwaukee for the NL Central Division lead.

The Pirates will turn to twenty-five year old righty Joe Musgrove (2-0 0.64 ERA) in the series opener. Through 14 innings this season, Musgrove has struck out 12 batters and owns a solid 1.14 WHIP.

Los Angeles SP Clayton Kershaw will miss at least a month with a lower back strain. Through 59 games, Los Angeles ranks 18th in batting average and 8th in runs scored. For the season, Pittsburgh ranks 12th in batting average and 9th in runs scored. Take Los Angeles to continue their solid offensive play. Final Score Prediction, Los Angeles Dodgers win 5-3.
