The Chicago Cubs failed on Sunday night to complete a weekend sweep in St. Louis, falling by a 5-0 final score. The Cubs scored 19 runs in the first two games of the series, but managed just four singles last night. SP Jose Quintana allowed two runs in five innings and took the loss for Chicago, who fell a half-game behind Milwaukee for the NL Central Division lead.
Chicago skipper Joe Maddon will turn to twenty-eight year old righty Tyler Chatwood (3-5 4.12 ERA) in this matchup. Control continues to be the issue for Chatwood, who has walked an unbelievable 58 batters in 63 plus innings of work.
