Dodgers at Braves 10/8/18 - MLB Picks & Predictions

Game Four of the NLDS between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves will take place on Monday afternoon from SunTrust Park. The Dodgers took the first two games of this best-of-five series at home but came up just short during Sunday’s 6-5 defeat. Chris Taylor and Max Muncy each went deep during the fifth inning. Los Angeles SP Walker Buehler gave up five runs in five innings and did not factor in the decision.

Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts has yet to name a starting pitcher for this matchup, although it is likely that Hyun-Jin Ryu will get the nod. In Game One, Ryu struck out eight batters and allowed four hits over seven scoreless frames during a 6-0 victory. The Atlanta Braves were thrilled to return home after not scoring a run during consecutive losses in Los Angeles. In Game Three, rookie OF Ronald Acona Jr. hit a grand slam as part of a five-run second inning for the Braves. Freddie Freeman’s solo shot in the sixth inning put Atlanta ahed for good after Los Angeles managed to tie the game.

The Braves have also not named a starting pitcher for this matchup. Twenty-seven year old righty Mike Foltynewicz started the series opener and was tagged for four runs in just two innings during the Game One loss.

Atlanta SS Dansby Swanson (hand) is not expected to be on the NLDS roster. Through 162 games, Los Angeles ranked 14th in batting average and 5th in runs scored. For the season, Atlanta ranked 5th in batting average and 10th in runs scored. Take the Dodgers to win and move on to face Milwaukee in the NLCS. Final Score Prediction, Los Angeles Dodgers win 4-3.
