The Dodgers won the NL West Division for the sixth consecutive season and have shut the Braves out in consecutive games to start this series. On Friday, SP Clayton Kershaw allowed two hits across eight frames to lead Los Angeles to a 3-0 victory. Manny Machado slugged a two-run homer to provide the offense for the Dodgers.

Rookie right-hander Walker Buehler (8-5 2.62 ERA) will head to the hill for the Dodgers in this contest. Last time out, Buehler allowed just one hit and struck out nine batters to pitch Los Angeles to the NL West Division title during a 5-2 victory versus Colorado. The Atlanta Braves were just five games above .500 at home this season and won the NL East Division by eight games over Philadelphia. The Braves need to make some magic happen at home to extend this best-of-five series back to Los Angeles for a potential Game Five. On Friday, rookie OF Ronald Acuna Jr. collected two of Atlanta’s three hits in defeat.

Twenty-five year old southpaw Sean Newcomb (12-9 3.90 ERA) will try to pitch well enough to keep Atlanta’s season alive. In 14 home starts, Newcomb walked 34 batters and posted a below average 5.12 ERA over 77 plus innings.
