Diamondbacks at Padres 7/25/20 - MLB Picks & Predictions

The second game of the season for Arizona and San Diego will definitely be interesting to say the least. The Padres are heading into the game playing at home to an empty stadium. However, Arizona was not really that bad of a road team and definitely added some talent during the offseason.

Coming into the game the spring ball was led by Trayce Thompson for the Diamondbacks in the power department. The Padres were led by Wil Myers, but for Myers that was somewhat what the team kind of expected to get from him.

The projected starter in the game for Arizona is Robbie Ray. Last season Ray posted a 12-8 record with a 4.34 ERA. He did manage to throw well enough to get quite a few strikeouts with a total of 235 batters sent back to the dugout.

With the Padres they are looking to put Dinelson Lamet on the mound in this game. Lamet was not horrible, but not the best pitcher last season with a 3-5 record and a 4.07 ERA. When it comes to striking out the opponents he managed to get a total of 105 strikeouts.
