Veteran right-hander Clay Buchholz (1-1 1.50 ERA) will make his fourth start as a member of the Diamondbacks. Through 18 innings of work, Buchholz has struck out 14 batters and owns a sparkling 0.67 WHIP.
The San Francisco Giants welcomed SP Madison Bumgarner back from a finger injury and he could make a major impact on the pennant race. On Tuesday, Bumgarner allowed eight hits and two runs over six innings of work. The Giants fell to a game below .500 overall and two full games out of first place.
The Giants will counter with twenty-seven year old righty Chris Stratton (7-3 4.50 ERA) in the series finale. Stratton has won four consecutive starts and has allowed ten runs over his last 21 innings of work.
