The Wednesday MLB schedule will get underway with a matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers from Miller Park. Last night, the Diamondbacks managed just three hist during a 1-0 loss against the Brewers. Arizona has lost six straight games and is a game behind Colorado for the NL West Division lead.
Twenty-eight year old righty Zack Godley (4-3 3.78 ERA) will try to snap a personal four-start winless streak. Over his last 24 innings, Godley has walked 12 batters and allowed 10 runs for the Diamondbacks.
The Milwaukee Brewers have won five of their last six games and lead the majors in bullpen ERA. On Tuesday, Milwaukee’s bullpen recorded 12 outs and allowed just one hits to close the door on the Diamondbacks. Lorenzo Cain had two hits for the Brewers, who lead St. Louis by two games for the NL Central Division lead.
The Brewers will counter with crafty southpaw Brent Suter (3-3 4.72 ERA) in the series finale. Last time out, Suter allowed one run and struck out six batters over five plus innings during an 8-3 victory at Minnesota.
