Thirty-two year old righty Wily Peralta (3-2 3.70 ERA) will get the nod for the Tigers on Saturday. In his last five starts, Peralts has given up 21 runs (17 ER) and struck out 15 batters across 23 innings of work.
The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to snap a three-game skid and have fallen five games behind Oakland for the final AL Wild Card spot. During Friday’s disappointing loss, Toronto managed just five hits and went 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position. All-Star 1B Vladimir Guerrero crushed his 36th home run of the season for the Blue Jays (63-57).
The Blue Jays will counter with thirty-four year old southpaw Hyun-Jin Ryu (11-6 3.72 ERA). Last time out, Ryu allowed four runs in six plus innings during a 9-3 road loss against Seattle.
