Last Updated: 08/20/2019 at 8:10 AM ET

NL Central Division rivals will clash on Wednesday, when the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh play game three of their four-game series from PNC Park. Last night, Chicago managed just six hits during a 5-1 road loss. Kris Bryant struck out in all four at-bats for the Cubs, who trail Milwaukee by one full game for the division lead.

Thirty-two year old righty Yu Darvish (2-4 4.98 ERA) has been a major disappointment since signing a huge contract last offseason. Darvish is winless over his last ten starts and has walked 49 batters through 90 plus frames.
The Pittsburgh Pirates have split their first 38 home games and are starting to gain some traction in the division standings. On Tuesday, Adam Frazier had four hits and scored three runs to spark the Pittsburgh offense from the leadoff spot. Six pitchers combined to strike out 13 batters for the Pirates, who are just four games out of first place.

Pittsburgh skipper Clint Hurdle will turn to right-hander Chris Archer (3-6 5.50 ERA) on Wednesday. The Pirates have won each of Archer’s last three starts and he has allowed seven runs over his last 14 innings.

Chicago SP Cole Hamels has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained left oblique. Through 86 games, Chicago ranks 8th in OPS and 11th in runs scored. For the season, Pittsburgh ranks 17th in OPS and 18th in runs scored. Take the over on Wednesday. Final Score Prediction, Pittsburgh Pirates win 6-5.
