The Pirates are doing decent when it comes to the offensive side of the plate as well. The Pirates have scored a total of 245 runs on the year and the Pirates are hitting at a clip of .259. The pitching is a middle of the road job as the team has an ERA of 4.05.
The Cubs have yet to announce who they will be sending out to the mound in the game to face the Pirates. However, with the way the Cubs staff has been pitching on the season it is a good bet it is a player who can really control the Pirates offense and help to keep the team ERA of the Cubs down quite a bit.
The Pirates, on the other hand, are countering with Chad Kuhl. Kuhl does not go deep in the games with only 55.2 innings in 10 starts, but he has struck out 53 batters. At the same time the Pirates have seen Kuhl go 4-2 with a 4.20 ERA.
