Colorado Rockies at Washington Nationals 5/27/22 - MLB Picks & Predictions

In Friday night MLB action, the Colorado Rockies and the Washington Nationals will continue their weekend series from the nation’s capital. The Rockies (20-24) have dropped 13 of their first 19 road games and are stuck in last place in the NL West Division. Last night, Colorado SP German Marquez (1-5) was tagged for five runs in six innings during a 7-3 road loss. 

Twenty-eight year old lefty Austin Gomber (2-4 4.11 ERA) will take the mound for the Rockies in this matchup. Colorado has lost Gomber’s last three starts and he has given up 10 runs over his last 18 plus frames.

The Washington Nationals are ten games below .500 at home and own the second worst record in the National League. On Thursday, leadoff hitter Cesar Hernandez had two hits and scored a pair of runs to spark the Washington offense. SP Patrick Corbin (1-7) gave up three runs in six plus innings to earn his first victory of the season for the Nationals (16-30).

The Nationals will give the nod to twenty-nine year old righty Aaron Sanchez (3-3 7.16 ERA) on Friday. Last time out, Sanchez allowed two runs in five innings during an 8-2 road triumph against Milwaukee.
