Colorado comes into this game 44-58 on the year after losing four of the last five games played. The Rockies lost the last game out 8-7 against the Los Angeles Angels in large part due to poor pitching.  Lucas Gilbreath got the start for Colorado giving up one run on two hits across one innings of work. It was the Colorado bullpen that cost the team the game giving up six runs on eight hits across the final eight innings of the game resulting in the loss.

The Colorado Rockies hit the ball at a decent clip going 9-36 on the day including 3-12 with runners in scoring position to leave eight men on base. Raimel Tapia led the way for Colorado going 4-5 on the day to drive in two runs. Trevor Story Chipped in for the offense with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning to get the scoring going.

The San Diego Padres come into this game with a 59-45 overall record good enough for 3rd place in the NL West. Blake Snell got the start for San Diego last game out giving up seven runs on seven hits across four innings of work leading to a 10-4 loss.

The Padres are the much better team in this game with the better pitcher on the mound. Look for Ryan Weathers to be the difference in this game as he holds the Rockies bats in check. The Padres bats will have no issues against Gray leading to an easy home win. Final Score Prediction, San Diego Padres win 5-1.
