Last Updated: 09/19/2020 at 12:24 AM ET

AL Central Division foes will square off on Saturday evening, when the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers continue their weekend series from Comerica Park. Last night, SP Zach Plesac (4-2) struck out 11 batters across seven plus innings to lead Cleveland to a 1-0 victory. Francisco Lindor’s sacrifice fly scored the only run for the Indians, who moved to five games above .500  overall.

Rookie right-hander Triston McKenzie (2-1 3.91 ERA) will make his sixth career major league start for the Indians. Cleveland has lost McKenzie’s last two starts and he has been tagged for eight runs over his last nine plus innings.

The Detroit Tigers have dropped 14 of their 25 home games and are falling out of playoff contention. On Friday, Detroit left seven runners on base and struck out 14 times in defeat. Seven pitchers for the Tigers (21-29) combined to walk seven batters

Twenty-eight year old righty Spencer Turnbull (4-3 3.94 ERA) will take the mound for the Tigers in this matchup. In his last start, Turnbull gave up five runs in five innings during a 5-2 loss at Chicago.

Detroit 2B Jonathan Schoop is currently on the 10-day injured list with a sprained right wrist. Through 51 games, Cleveland ranks 27th in OPS and 26th in runs scored. Detroit comes into this game with an offense that ranks 21st in OPS and 20th in runs scored. Take the Tigers as a nicely priced underdog. Final Score Prediction, Detroit Tigers win 5-3.
