The Detroit Tigers are six games above .500 at home and trail Cleveland by one full game for second place. On Friday, Detroit SP Tyler Alexander (2-2) gave up four runs in five innings and took the loss. 1B Renato Nunez hit a two-run blast in the ninth inning for the Tigers, who fell to 57-61 on the season.
The Tigers will give the nod to thirty-two year old righty Wily Peralta (3-2 3.48 ERA) on Saturday. In his last start, Peralta gave up five runs in five innings during a 7-5 road loss against Cleveland.
