The Cincinnati Reds go back on the road Friday night as they will visit St. Louis, MO for game 1 of 3 against the St. Louis Cardinals. Cincinnati comes into Friday 14 games below .500 following a 7-0 win against the Arizona Diamondbacks that ended a two game win streak. Mike Minor continued to struggle against Arizona giving up three runs on three hits across 4.1 innings of work. The Cincinnati bullpen struggled as well allowing four more runs on eight hits across the final 4.2 innings of the game.

Kyle Farmer is the offensive leader for Cincinnati with a .266 batting average to go along with a team leading 32 RBI’s. Brandon Drury supplies the Cincinnati power with eleven home runs on the year to go along with a team high 46 hits.

The St. Louis Cardinals go back home Friday night 32-25 on the year riding a two game losing streak. The Cardinals lost to the Rays on Wednesday after starter Packy Naughton struggled  immensely giving up four runs on five hits after recording only four outs in the game. The Cardinals Bullpen was abysmal as well giving up seven more runs on 13 hits over the final 6.2 innings.

Offensively St. Louis struggled against Tampa Bay compiling only eight hits in 34 at bats including 2-7 with runners in scoring position to leave five men on base. Tyler O’Neil was the only real bright spot in the Cardinals offense going 2-4 on the day including a solo home run to drive in all three Cardinal runs.
