Cincinnati Reds at San Francisco Giants 4/13/21 - MLB Picks & Predictions

In the second game of a Tuesday night MLB doubleheader on ESPN, the Cincinnati Reds and the San Francisco Giants will square off from Oracle Park. Last night, SP Wade Miley (2-0) tossed five scoreless innings and allowed two hits to lead Cincinnati to a 3-0 road victory against San Francisco. Joey Votto and Jesse Winker each homered to provide the offense for the Reds, who improved to 7-3 on the year.

Twenty-eight year old righty Luis Castillo (1-1 6.97 ERA) will take the mound for the Reds in this matchup. Last time out, Castillo allowed four hits and struck out five across seven shutout innings during an 11-4 victory versus Pittsburgh.

The San Francisco Giants have won three of their first four home games and are one of the most underrated teams in baseball. During last night’s loss, San Francisco scratched together just two hits and left four men on base. SP Aaron Sanchez (0-1) allowed two runs in five innings and took the loss for the Giants, who fell to 6-4 on the season.

Hard-throwing righty Kevin Gausman (0-0 1.32 ERA) will get the nod for the Giants on Tuesday. Through his first 13 plus innings, Gausman has struck out 11 batters and posted a sparkling 0.73 WHIP.

Cincinnati SP Sonny Gray (back) threw a simulated game on Saturday and could start as early as this week. Through ten games, Cincinnati ranks 1st in OPS and 1st in runs scored. For the season, San Francisco ranks 19th in OPS and 25th in runs scored. Take the Giants to even this series with a home victory. Final Score Prediction, San Francisco Giants win 4-3.
