Last Updated: 09/10/2022 at 12:50 AM ET

In Saturday afternoon MLB action, the Chicago White Sox and the Oakland Athletics will continue their weekend series from RingCentral Coliseum. The White Sox (70-68) have won seven of their last ten games and trail Cleveland by 1.5 games for the AL Central Division lead. Last night, SS Elvis Andrus came through with a two-run double in the ninth inning to lift Chicago to a 5-3 road victory.

Thirty-five year old righty Lance Lynn (5-5 4.34 ERA) has pitched well for the White Sox over the last month. In his last start, Lynn allowed one unearned run and struck out 11 batters during a 3-2 road victory against Seattle.

The Oakland Athletics have dropped 46 of their 68 home games and own the worst record in the American League. On Friday, Oakland carried a three-run lead into the ninth inning before relief pitcher A.J. Puk (3-2) imploded for his fifth blown save. Leadoff hitter Tony Kemp had two hits and scored a pair of runs in a losing effort for the Athletics (50-89).

Rookie right-hander Adrian Martinez (4-3 4.37 ERA) will make his eighth career major league start. The Athletics have won Martinez’s last two trips to the mound and he has allowed just one run over his last 11 plus frames.

Chicago SS Tim Anderson (hand) is still about a week away from being able to swing a bat. Through 139 games, Chicago ranks 13th in OPS and 16th in runs scored. For the season, Oakland ranks 29th in OPS and 29th in runs scored. Take the under. Final Score Prediction, Chicago White Sox win 4-2.
