White Sox vs Yankees Picks and Prediction – 6/8/2023

The Chicago White Sox meet the New York Yankees Thursday night for game two of their doubleheader in the Bronx. Mike Clevenger will take the mound for Chicago with a 3-3 record on the year to go along with a 4.13 ERA.  Lucas Giolito got the start and win for Chicago in game one of this series giving up no runs on no hits across 6 innings of work. The Chicago bullpen was fantastic as well allowing just two runs on three hits over the final three innings of the game as Liam Hendriks got the victory.

Offensively Chicago did just enough from the plate with seven hits in 31 at bats to score 3 total runs. Seby Zavala provided the only spark in the game for Chicago with two hits and three at bats to drive in three runs after hitting two home runs in the game. Luis Robert Jr. chipped in as well with two hits in four at bats, while three other White Sox added one hit apiece.

The New York Yankees stay on their home field Thursday night for game two of their double header against the Chicago White Sox. Randy Vasquez will take the ball for New York winless on the year with an era just below four. Clark Schmidt took the mound for New York in game one of the series giving up three runs on six hits across six innings resulting in the loss. The New York bullpen was much better than the starter allowing no runs on one hit over the final three innings.

Offensively New York was terrible in game one with three hits and 38 bats including just one with runners in scoring position to leave five men on base. Josh Donaldson supplied the biggest spark of the game with a solo home run in the ninth inning to cut the lead to one. Isiah Kiner-Falefa provided the only other bright spot in the game for New York with one hit in four at bats to drive in the second run of the game.
